The Nepali American Community Center (NACC) is strengthening its ties with elected officials and local Government agencies in Northern Virginia. Dr. Madan Uprety, Chairman of the NAAC Executive Committee, Arun Rupakheti, Chairman of the NAAC Board of Trustee Committee, and other NACC officials provided an overview of the community center’s building progress & challenges to Virginia House of Delegate Michelle Maldonado today. She represents the 50th district, Prince William County to the VA state assembly. During the walk through meeting at the construction site, NACC officers highlighted challenges faced during the building renovation, including a lack of financial support from the local and federal government. Delegate Michelle Maldonado, considering a run for Congressional representative (Democratic Party) in the upcoming November election, committed to foster a partnership that will contribute to the growth of the NAAC building and empower the Nepali American Community in the mainstream arena. NACC Board of Trustee member Medini Adhikari played a key role in facilitating the opportunity to have Delegate Michelle participate in the event. (नेपाली अमेरिकन कम्युनिटी सेन्टर (NACC) ले उत्तरी भर्जिनियामा निर्वाचित अधिकारीहरू र स्थानीय सरकारी निकायहरूसँगको सम्बन्धलाई सुदृढ गरिरहेको छ। यसै सन्दर्भमा NAAC कार्यकारी समितिका अध्यक्ष डा. मदन उप्रेती, NAAC बोर्ड अफ ट्रस्टी कमिटीका अध्यक्ष अरुण रुपाखेती र NACC का अन्य अधिकारीहरूले आज भर्जिनिया हाउस अफ डेलिगेट मिशेल माल्डोनाडोलाई सामुदायिक केन्द्रको भवन निर्माण प्रगति र उत्पन्न चुनौतीहरूकोबारेमा भवन परिसरमै अवलोकन भ्रमणका दौरान गराउनु भयो । मिशेल भर्जिनिया राज्य सभामा 50 औं जिल्ला, प्रिन्स विलियम काउन्टीको प्रतिनिधित्व गर्छिन्। निर्माण स्थलमा भएको सो भेटघाटमा NACC अधिकारीहरूले स्थानीय र संघीय सरकारको आर्थिक सहयोगको अभाव लगायत भवन मर्मतसम्भारका क्रममा सामना गर्नुपर्ने चुनौतिहरूबारेमा प्रकाश पार्नु भयो। प्रतिनिधि मिशेल माल्डोनाडो, आगामी नोभेम्बरको चुनावमा कंग्रेसनल प्रतिनिधि (डेमोक्र्याटिक पार्टी) को लागि उठ्ने विचार गर्दै, NAAC भवनको विकासमा योगदान पुर्याउने र नेपाली अमेरिकी समुदायलाई मूलधारको क्षेत्रमा सशक्त बनाउन सहयोग गर्ने लक्ष्य राखेकी छिन । न्याकका बिओटी सदस्य मेदिनी अधिकारीले मिशेललाई न्याक भवन निर्माण स्थलमा ल्याउन भूमिका खेल्नु भएको थियो । NACC ले आफ्नो पुननिर्माण परियोजना एक वर्षभित्र पूरा गर्ने लक्ष्य राखेको छ र सदस्यता अभियान मार्फत अझ बढी सामुदायिक संलग्नताको लागि आह्वान गरिरहेको छ। तस्बिर सौजन्यः पर्शुराम भन्डारी/पुरु सुवेदी)
